Your application should reflect your genuine experiences and qualifications to ensure authenticity and credibility Job overview The post holder will join the Community CAMHS North team, one of three locality teams providing services to children, young people, and families in the Bassetlaw, Newark, and Sherwood areas who are registered with a Nottinghamshire GP. CAMHS offers assessment and treatment for mild to severe emotional and mental health needs for children and young people up to the age of 18. Family Support Workers are key members of the team, delivering a range of emotional and wellbeing support through one‑to‑one work and small group interventions. They contribute to formulation, assessment, and care planning, helping young people develop coping skills, build resilience, and achieve positive mental health outcomes. The role is central to providing safe, compassionate, and person‑centred care. The post holder will use Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs) to support collaborative, goal‑focused, evidence‑based work with young people and families. The role also involves close liaison with partner agencies across health, education, social care, and the voluntary sector to ensure coordinated, holistic support. We are happy to consider job share arrangements for this position. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. Advert Contribute to the development and delivery of therapeutic interventions within a multi‑agency, collaborative framework, supporting children, young people, and families under the supervision of Community CAMHS staff. Implement agreed interventions in appropriate settings and provide timely feedback and reports to members of the Community CAMHS Team. Deliver therapeutic interventions and care bundles in innovative and creative ways, offering psychoeducation to children, young people, and their families. Promote and strengthen the emotional health and wellbeing of children, young people, and families engaged with the Community CAMHS Team. Attend and contribute to reviews as required, providing clear written and verbal reports on the progress of children and families. Communicate sensitively, professionally, and supportively with children, families, and partner professionals to ensure needs are fully understood and addressed. Seek guidance from Clinical and Operational Leads when needed, and engage in regular clinical and managerial supervision in line with Trust policy and professional standards. Support colleagues and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records in accordance with Trust policies and procedures. Work in partnership with other teams across Nottinghamshire and neighbouring CAMHS services to support coordinated, high‑quality care. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Support the delivery of therapeutic interventions for children, young people, and families, working within a multi‑agency and collaborative framework under the guidance and supervision of qualified Community CAMHS staff. Work in accordance with the Community CAMHS service specification, vision, aims, and objectives to contribute to the provision of safe, effective, and person‑centred care. Implement agreed low‑intensity interventions in appropriate community, clinical, or educational settings, ensuring that any concerns or changes in presentation are reported promptly to supervising clinicians. Contribute to the delivery of therapeutic care bundles, using creativity and initiative to engage children, young people, and families, and providing psychoeducation as part of structured support. Promote emotional wellbeing and resilience, supporting children and young people to develop effective coping strategies as part of their care plan. Participate in reviews and meetings, offering observations and contributing written and verbal information regarding progress and engagement with interventions. Communicate sensitively and professionally with children, young people, families, and partner professionals across health, education, social care, and the voluntary sector to ensure coordinated support. Work in line with the CYP IAPT principles, which continue to underpin collaborative, goal‑focused, evidence‑based care within CAMHS, supporting collaborative, goal‑focused approaches to care and contributing to routine outcome monitoring. Seek guidance and support from Clinical and Operational Leads when needed and participate in regular clinical and managerial supervision, following Trust policies and professional standards. Support a positive team environment, working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to effective multidisciplinary working. Maintain accurate, timely, and contemporaneous records in line with Trust documentation standards. Work in partnership with other CAMHS teams across Nottinghamshire and neighbouring areas to support smooth transitions and joined‑up pathways of care. Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
