About the Role
Balfour Beatty is looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor / Appointed Person (AP) to support the delivery of the temporary site services package on the prestigious Lower Thames Crossing project. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant electrical operations, supporting our commitment to Zero Harm and Right First Time delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Deliver AP duties in accordance with Balfour Beatty Electrical Safe Systems of Work (ESSW).
* Support the development of Work Package Plans, Risk Assessments, Task Briefings and toolbox talks.
* Identify hazards, implement effective controls, and drive Zero Harm behaviours.
* Ensure all electrical plant, equipment, and small tools are maintained and safe to use.
* Work collaboratively with BBATS Leads to plan, sequence, and approve electrical works.
* Monitor workmanship quality, productivity, and adherence to specifications.
* Validate labour and plant records and ensure accurate reporting.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical legislation, standards, and company procedures.
* Promote a culture of continuous improvement and "Right First Time" across the supply chain.
* Ensure timely QA completion using BIM Field 360 and contribute to weekly programme updates.
Who We’re Looking For
* Experience working as an Electrical Supervisor, ideally with AP responsibilities.
* Strong understanding of safe systems of work and electrical safety procedures consistent with internal policies.
* ECS Card, SMSTS and a full UK driving licence.
* Ability to lead, influence and communicate clearly with workforce and subcontractors.
* Experience in temporary electrical installations.
* Strong work ethic with flexibility to work nights/weekends where needed.
* Proven ability to produce and deliver toolbox talks and technical briefings.
* Knowledge of construction tolerances, ITPs and resource allocation.
Desirable
* Prior experience on high‑profile projects with complex electrical safe systems of work.
* Experience in communications systems.
* Trained Electrical Appointed Person (AP).
* Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage sections of work from planning through to handover.
