The Role The Assistant Project Manager reports directly to a Project Manager and is responsible for supporting the Project Manager and wider team in delivering activities associated with the full life cycle delivery of a contract or work package assigned to them. This post has the responsibility to support delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction and commissioning activities for the life cycle of the contract or work package in accordance with the overall Project schedule. This post will support planning and delivery in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project. You’ll will be primarily responsible for: Supporting planning and delivery associated with the full life cycle delivery of the contract or the project work packages. Demonstrate success in managing/developing: Engineering design, contract and field execution strategies for project delivery, Multi-discipline EPCM projects, Procurement and management of complex contracts, Control of costs; risk; schedule and change and proficient in the use of Earned Value tools, Detailed understanding of PWR design and experience in PWR operations. Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders, suppliers, and team. Responding to tender queries, meetings with suppliers, if required providing input to tender technical reviews. Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks. Managing and resolving issues within the contact or package in timely manner. Support interface with other programmes to ensure a high-level view of how the total project is progressing and to identify and adopt the use of best practice. Ensuring the List of Deliverables relating to the scope of work is delivered. Additionally, you’ll demonstrate industry knowledge and experience working in the related infrastructure industry. The Skills Degree and chartered status in an engineering, construction, physics, or other related field. Experience in design and/or delivery of infrastructure projects. Good knowledge of CDM Regulations. Knowledge or experience of applying APM body of knowledge and OGC's Prince 2. IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs – Word/Excel. Willingness to learn from both successes and failures. The ability to re-prioritise tasks in fast paced, changing environment. Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks. Strong numerical and analytical skills.
