Position Summary
Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) responsible for leading shift operations within the clinical setting to ensure high-quality care, excellent customer experience, and optimal patient flow. Collaborating with the Department Nursing Operations Manager and the Assistant Nursing Operations Manager (ANOM), the CANM provides guidance, fosters collaboration, and oversees clinical operations including patient care assignments, customer experience, productivity, and quality outcomes. This role focuses on units where patients have advanced illnesses or injuries requiring complex, timely care with a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained staff.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
1. Serve as an exemplar of Baptist Health and Orlando Health's mission, vision, and values.
2. Participate in shared leadership structures.
3. Manage staffing assignments based on patient acuity and staff skills to meet care needs.
4. Coordinate patient flow with administrative staff to achieve desired outcomes.
5. Monitor patient status, especially for seriously ill patients.
6. Ensure compliance with physician orders, policies, procedures, and standards in patient care delivery.
7. Support frontline staff and providers as a resource.
8. Focus on clinical collaboration to optimize patient length of stay.
9. Perform direct patient care activities as needed.
10. Engage with patients and families through rounds and address complaints to enhance experience.
11. Lead safety huddles and promote a culture of safety.
12. Embrace and communicate change and problem-solving initiatives.
13. Assess and ensure availability of necessary equipment for staff use.
14. Support leadership initiatives and foster a positive work environment.
15. Maintain a regulatory-ready environment of care.
16. Appropriately allocate staff, manage breaks, and ensure team coverage.
17. Utilize fiscal management skills in decision-making.
18. Maintain punctual attendance according to policies and standards.
19. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
20. Participate in leadership huddles, support new initiatives, and foster collaborative partnerships.
21. Serve as a coach and mentor to nursing staff.
22. Communicate effectively in verbal and written formats.
23. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
24. Support a safe working environment and follow up on workplace violence occurrences.
25. Maintain clinical practice knowledge aligned with the Professional Practice Model.

Qualifications
Education/Training: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in Alabama or NLC, BLS certification, and relevant area certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC) as required by patient population.
Experience: Minimum of one year as a Registered Nurse; acute care experience preferred.
