Responsibilities
* Report to the Clinical HR Team Leader and provide a professional and seamless HR service to our clinical staff as well as internal and external stakeholders.
* Work with the HR Staff hub recruitment team, department contacts and hiring managers to support the onboarding of new clinical staff — from drafting contracts and ensuring relevant compliance checks and paperwork are in place to dealing with clinical contract and pay queries, advising on medical staffing matters and setting up new starters on the HR system.
* Manage a busy inbox, provide advice and guidance in a professional and timely manner, meet deadlines, use initiative to resolve queries, and build strong relationships.
* Experience in a busy administrative role in recruitment or HR, or a busy administrative role with high levels of customer support.
* Regularly contribute to key clinical projects and wider HR initiatives; support continuous improvement and new ways of working.
* Hours: full time, 36.5 hours per week. Hybrid working with 2 office days per week.
* Join a supportive team within a wider HR department of 26 HR colleagues; participate in wellbeing events as part of the Clinical School Wellbeing Programme.
* Location: Clinical School Office on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus; involvement in key projects including the new Children’s Hospital, Cancer Research Hospital and other Global Health initiatives.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience in a busy administrative role in recruitment or HR, or similar customer-facing administrative experience.
* Ability to manage a busy inbox, work to deadlines, and provide professional customer support.
* Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
* Willingness to participate in projects and bring fresh ideas to improve ways of working.
* Eligible to live and work in the UK; successful candidate will undergo a security check after offer.
