Overview
Lancashire Constabulary is looking for a Stable Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities
* To be responsible for the welfare of all horses, undertaking any action required i.e. administering medication, cleaning and dressing wounds/injuries and documenting relevant information.
* To be responsible for one thematic area of the day to day running of the branch, i.e. vets, physio, saddler, invoices, Farrier, feed merchants.
* To groom and prepare horses for patrol.
* To use machinery/equipment in order to complete daily duties, e.g. tractor, horse walker, electric fencing and garden maintenance equipment.
Skills And Experience
* Knowledge of horses including welfare
* Knowledge of Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Community Race Relations and Data Protection legislation/issues
* Experience of manual work and safe handling of horses
Vetting And Medical
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. Successful applicants will also be subject to a medical assessment.
The successful candidate will be required to work in accordance with the attached rota.
Please note, candidates successful at shortlisting will be required to undertake a practical assessment as part of the interview process. Details will be provided to those invited to interview.
