The Role We are seeking a Programme Manager for an initial 6 month contract but will also consider permanent candidates who are available quickly. The role will initially responsible for leading a multi-year geospatial data transformation, with associated business change, across a number of UK Government organisations, leading a team that will include other industrial partners. The role will be majority focused on customer delivery but will also likely evolve to include supervision of other mid-level Project Management staff and the assurance of successful delivery for a portfolio of projects. It is anticipated that the candidate will also have a key role in creating the delivery solution for new proposals. Job Responsibilities Responsible to the client and business for the successful execution of assigned programme or projects, using staff assigned from internal departments and/or specially engaged contractors and/or subcontractors. Engage, organise, coach and inspire the assigned team to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction, re-organising and re-shaping the team as necessary to achieve high performance in the light of experience. Develop means to t rack and forecast talent costs and other expenditure, taking action as required to deliver high quality outcomes within baseline budgets. Provide clear status reporting including risks, opportunities and corrective action plans as to customers and internal stakeholders. Define and implement corrective action plans of some complexity to address the root-causes of issues and embed them in the programme and wider PM team to improve overall delivery capability. Act as a senior customer representative with senior customers, able to deal honestly, clearly and confidently with issues as they arise. Track and manage the delivery of enabling dependencies from customer and company. Skills Required Proven experience delivering projects within the Central Government. Background in projects involving geospatial data and technology-enabled business change. Strong technical delivery management expertise across digital and data services, software development, and associated tools/methods. Proficient in project management approaches, including Agile, with an understanding of business change. Commercial awareness with the ability to interpret contracts and manage partners/subcontractors. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence and manage dependencies across complex landscapes. Strong leadership and people management skills: team building, capability development, conflict resolution, and coaching. Adaptive and culturally aware, able to adjust approach to suit changing environments and diverse clients. Results-driven mindset with accountability for delivering successful outcomes and business growth. Security Clearance Requirements The successful candidate must be eligible to go through a SC level security clearance. Location The role will be required travel to our Horsham offices 2 days a month and travel to customer sites when required.
