Vitaline First Responder – Blackpool Council Location: The Phoenix Centre, Blackpool, FY1 6RN (Hybrid role) Hours: Variable shifts between 07:00 – 22:20, covering 7 days Checks: Full driving licence & Enhanced DBS essential Are you a calm, caring person who can think on your feet and stay composed in a crisis? This could be a great fit. Blackpool Council’s Vitaline service is the town’s Community Alarm Centre. We support people to live independently at home, using a mix of advanced technology and in-person visits via our Mobile Warden service. The role As a Vitaline First Responder, you will: * Provide a monitoring and emergency response service to vulnerable customers * Respond to alerts and calls, either in person or via communication equipment * Help people keep or regain their independence and remain safely in their own homes * Deliver an out-of-hours service to other Council departments * Work as part of a fast-moving, innovative and customer-focused team This is a varied role where no two days are the same and you’ll be making a real difference to people’s lives every shift. What we’re looking for * A motivated, flexible and resilient “people person” * Experience working with vulnerable people (paid or voluntary) is an advantage * Able to adapt to change and remain calm under pressure * Strong customer service skills and a compassionate approach * Good IT and keyboard skills * Able to work variable shifts across days, evenings and weekends * Full driving licence and access to your own transport * Able to pass an Enhanced DBS check If you’re passionate about helping people live safely and independently and you’re looking for a role where your work genuinely matters, we’d love to hear from you
