Who we are:

Calderglen House is a leading residential rehab facility within Scotland and are pleased to announce the opening of our sister Residential rehab in Symington, South Ayrshire.

Townend house will accommodate up to 24 residents, offering high-quality facilities and focuses on a person-centred approach to support individuals on their recovery journey. This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults.

Overview

Enhance Healthcare are a specialist care provider seeking a committed and experienced Service Manager to lead a new residential rehabilitation house, Townend. This will be for individuals recovering from drug and alcohol misuse. The role requires a skilled leader who can ensure high-quality, person-centred care in compliance with the Health and Social Care Standards and the Care Inspectorate's regulatory requirements.

The Manager will be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and take lead responsibility for service delivery, staff management, operational development, and maintaining compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance and Governance:

* Ensure the service complies fully with Care Inspectorate regulations, and the Health and Social Care Standards.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation required for all aspects of the service.
* Liaise with the Care Inspectorate, SSSC, local authorities, health and addiction services and prisons as appropriate.
* Ensure safer recruitment, and that all staff are registered with appropriate regulatory bodies.

Service Leadership:

* Lead on the day-to-day operation of the rehab, providing clear leadership and direction.
* Promote a culture of respect, dignity, and empowerment in line with trauma-informed and person-centred care.
* Develop and maintain policies and procedures aligned with national guidance and best practice in addiction recovery.
* Involvement in referral and assessment process and co-ordinate admissions and discharges.
* Represent the service at meetings and events, actively promoting its benefits in person.

Staff Management:

* Recruit, induct, supervise, and appraise a multi-disciplinary staff team.
* Develop training plans in line with SSSC codes of practice and CPD requirements.
* Foster a positive working environment that prioritises wellbeing, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Resident Support and Safeguarding:

* Oversee care planning, risk assessment, and keywork systems to ensure high-quality individualised support.
* Support residents in their recovery journey using evidence-based approaches (e.g., 12-step, SMART recovery).
* Uphold adult support and protection principles and ensure timely responses to any safeguarding concerns.

Operational and Financial Management:

* Manage the service budget, monitor expenditure, and ensure cost-effective operations.
* Oversee health and safety, fire safety, infection control, and medication management in the service.
* Work with the senior leadership team on service development, and partnership working.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

* Monitor service outcomes, resident progress, and feedback to inform quality assurance and service development.
* Prepare reports for the board of directors, funders, and the Care Inspectorate, Scotland Excel, and Public Heath as required.

Essential Criteria:

* SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and a suitable management qualification (e.g., SVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management for Care Services).
* Registered with the SSSC (or able to register within the required timeframe).
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management or supervisory role in social care, preferably within addiction recovery or residential care.
* Sound understanding of the Care Inspectorate's Quality Framework and the Health and Social Care Standards.
* Experience supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs, including substance misuse, homelessness, and mental health.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work flexibly, including occasional on-call responsibilities.

Desirable Criteria:

* Lived experience of recovery (professional boundaries respected).
* Knowledge of commissioning and contract management.
* Training in trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, or safeguarding adults.
* Experience with outcome measurement tools (e.g. Outcome Star).
