The Role
As a Class Teacher, you will:
Plan, deliver, and adapt engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with complex ASC.
Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment that encourages emotional regulation and personal growth.
Implement effective behaviour management and communication strategies, including visual, sensory, and therapeutic supports.
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and families as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
Monitor pupil progress through ongoing assessment and adapt teaching accordingly.
Drive the school minibus to support off-site learning and community experiences (training provided if required).
This role is highly likely to become permanent for the right candidate.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with experience in SEN or specialist provisions.
Skilled at supporting pupils with Autism and challenging behaviour.
Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient, with a reflective and proactive approach.
A strong communicator who works effectively as part of a supportive team.
Minibus trained (or willing to undertake minibus driver training).
Essential Requirements
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – essential.
Experience working with pupils with ASC and complex behavioural needs.
Sound understanding of SEN best practice and positive behaviour support.
Minibus licence (D1) or willingness to undertake training.
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
