Our local authority client based in North London are urgently seeking an experienced Housing Registration Officer. Role Purpose To maintain Haringey’s housing register and provide housing applicants with an efficient & transparent assessment service, ensuring that all applications are assessed in line with the Council’s policies and procedures and are compliant with relevant housing legislation. To undertake assessments of individuals requesting Older Person’s Housing. To undertake Medical Assessments for housing online applications and existing households on the councils waiting list. Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience * A good understanding of a housing registration system, Part VI of the Housing Act 1996 and social housing allocations legislation and policy. * Experience of delivering a service to the public, ideally in a housing environment * An understanding of public policy issues affecting social housing. * A responsible position in housing registration / housing environment * An awareness of occasions that require liaison with other public services (e.g. child protection, domestic abuse and safeguarding of adults and children).
