Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HCPC registered band 5-6 Dietitian to join the West Lancs All Age Eating Disorder Team, based at Ormskirk District General Hospital. This 12-month band six preceptorship/development post is ideal for a dietitian wishing to move into the specialist area of eating disorders with robust support to develop specialist skills in this field. The service aims to provide non-judgmental, timely support for eating disorders for all ages.
The post holder will deliver a high-quality, evidence-based nutrition and dietetic service to community services, focusing on supporting young people and adults with eating disorders. They will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide a specialised dietetic service to the Central team, alongside a wider eating disorder dietetic team that offers additional supervision and support.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a high standard at all times with comprehensive dietetic assessments of patients with highly complex presentations using advanced clinical reasoning and assessment techniques.
* Assess the physical, psychological, and emotional needs of patients, collaborating with other professionals to deliver appropriate care.
* Be competent in a range of service-relevant clinical dietetic procedures.
* Request and interpret necessary investigations to monitor and manage patients with clinical conditions.
* Provide advanced specialist dietetic treatment, including assessing and reviewing medications in accordance with legislation and treatment guidelines where appropriate.
* Anticipate care needs and develop individual lifestyle management plans that reflect patient values, beliefs and views.
* Proactively monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of agreed care management plans.
* Contribute specialist knowledge to the multidisciplinary team.
