About the Role
I am seeking an experienced and professional Legal Secretary / Assistant to join a well-established and friendly high street law firm in Petersfield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills and previous legal secretarial experience to support the Private Client department, providing high-quality assistance to solicitors and fee earners.
While experience within Private Client law (Wills, Probate, LPAs, and Trusts) is desirable, it is not essential—training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to fee earners within the Private Client team.
* Prepare and format legal correspondence, documents, and forms with accuracy and attention to detail.
* Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, maintaining a professional and friendly approach.
* Organise diaries, arrange appointments, and liaise with clients and third parties.
* Handle file management, including opening, updating, and archiving client files.
* Manage billing processes, draft invoices, and assist with file closing.
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to compliance and firm procedures at all times.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience as a Legal Secretary is essential.
* Experience within Private Client work (Wills, Probate, LPAs, Trusts) is desirable.
* Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
* Friendly, professional, and proactive team player.
