Job Description
TheSystems Engineerwill work together with the customer contributing torequirements managementand problem understanding, supportingfacilities engineeringand major infrastructure projects. This role may include but is not limited to:requirements management, ensure projects are properly scoped and delivered using soundsystems thinkingprinciples, facilitating stakeholder workshops, helping shape pragmatic approaches to complex and real-world infrastructure problems, structuringverificationand validation plans.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work collaboratively withengineeringdiscipline leads to obtainengineeringassistance required, define activities and jointly establish Statements of Work.
* Work collaboratively with the client leadership to ensure goals of engagement are fulfilled, new ideas are discussed and workstream expansion plans implemented
* Ensureproject scoping, requirements capture and problem definition are done effectively and collaboratively
* Support the development oftechnical documentationincluding requirement sets, interface definitions, V&V plans and logical architectures.
* Apply and promote practicalsystems thinkingin support of infrastructure and facilities maintenance projects
* Compile and peer review project andtechnicalreports.
* Workload Management - Workload planning, estimating & scheduling, supportproject coordinationif part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Be adaptable, asproject requirementsevolve, and ensure relevant parties are notified of changes in the project
* Drive customer satisfaction.
Work Experience
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelors degree (minimum) inMechanical Engineeringor a closely related discipline.
* Typically 2+ years of relevantsystems engineeringexperience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, nuclear, maritime, infrastructure,oil and gasetc. ).
* Understanding ofsystems engineeringprinciples, includingrequirements management,integration and verificationand validation.
* Knowledge ofrequirements engineeringpractices and methods
* Experience organising and supporting stakeholder meetings. Ability to engage with stakeholders,technicalteams and cross-functional groups to understand their key needs.
* Experience in applyingsystems thinkingin environments with legacy systems, real-world constraints and evolving problem sets.
* Good understanding of project life cycle from concept, commissioning to operations and maintenance.
Desirable Attributes:
* Exposure tosystems engineeringframeworks such as INCOSE SE Handbook or relevant Defence Standards
* Experience indesignand construction phases especially in a dockyard or industrial infrastructure environment. xsngvjr
* Experience with IBM DOORs
* Experience inProject Engineering: includingscoping, proposing solutions and approaches, coordinating and managing progress and reporting.
