Offer description

Overview

We are seeking an innovative and dynamic Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team here in the Borders area with our ambition to deliver high quality care to our patients within the Hospital at Home team and aligning with the Community AHP Service. This post is based across the Scottish Borders with close transport links to Edinburgh and rest of the Borders. You will be working primarily within the Hospital at Home team with a focus on person centred care to promote our patients to live as independently as possible within their preferred environment. There is also scope as part of the community service aims in preventing admissions and the timely supported discharge back to home.

As a clinician you will independently assess and treat routine and complex patients in the community setting with a variety of conditions, managing your own caseload and signposting to other services when required. Therefore, a clinical experience of respiratory, orthopaedics, neurology, medicine of the elderly & frailty in community patient groups is essential.

You will be supported in your own professional development, have the opportunity to pursue clinical interests whilst continuing to deliver a service across a broad base of practice. You will also benefit from working within a skilled and supportive team to promote yours and others’ professional development with a timely professional supervision and appraisal structure.

We welcome enquiries and would love to hear from you.

For Further Information Please Contact
Michelle Laing, Community AHP Team Lead at michelle.laing2@nhs.scot

Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. If there is any change to what is currently required, this will be confirmed by either the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team. For more details on these changes please visit GOV.UK.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visas and Immigration Service. As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. For more information please refer to GOV.UK.

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. This is only possible if the employer is a licensed Sponsor and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’.

It is essential that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form
