Job Summary
Casual Recreation Officer – deliver lifeguarding duties and support activities across the facility. Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends. During the summer season, support staffing at Stratford Park Lido on short notice.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide lifeguarding cover in line with Normal Operating Procedures (NOP) and Emergency Action Plans (EAP).
* Monitor pool users at all times to ensure safety and take appropriate action where required.
* Respond effectively and calmly to incidents and emergency situations.
* Support the set‑up and takedown of equipment for sports hall and other activities.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across all areas of the facility.
* Deliver excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner.
* Support the delivery of aquatic and dry‑side activities where required.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the centre.
* Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all customers.
Training and Development
Full training will be provided to successful candidates.
* Funding will be available for the National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification (NPLQ) for those who are not already qualified.
* Candidates must successfully complete a swim assessment before training.
* Successful candidates who do not already hold the NPLQ will be required to attend a full training course at Active Lifestyles Dursley from 13th – 18th July (inclusive).
* Ongoing training and development opportunities will be provided.
