The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced payroll administrator or coordinator to join our People team in Birmingham.

The International Payroll Administrator will be responsible for coordinating, validating and delivering accurate payrolls across multiple countries. Acting as the key point of contact with the global payroll provider and internal stakeholders, the successful candidate will ensure payrolls are delivered on time, compliantly and to a high standard.


Key Responsibilities


Payroll Delivery

* Coordinate end‑to‑end monthly payroll cycles for allocated countries
* Prepare, review and submit payroll inputs including new starters, leavers and variable pay
* Validate payroll outputs, including payslips, gross‑to‑net calculations, variance reports and payroll journals
* Ensure all payrolls meet agreed deadlines and local statutory requirements


Stakeholder Management

* Partner with colleagues in international offices to resolve payroll queries and meet service levels
* Work closely with People Services, Finance and line managers to support accurate payroll delivery
* Provide payroll data and documentation to support internal and external audits
* Build strong relationships with global payroll providers, local in‑country contacts, People Operations team, Finance teams, line managers and employees


Compliance

* Ensure compliance with local labour law, tax and social security regulations
* Maintain secure handling of sensitive employee data in line with GDPR and data protection requirements
* Keep up to date with international payroll legislation and statutory changes


Systems, Reporting and Continuous Improvement

* Use global payroll provider platforms and portals to manage payroll processing and outputs
* Maintain accurate employee data through the HRIS, including starters, leavers and changes
* Produce payroll reports for Finance, including payroll journals, variance analysis and reconciliations
* Use Microsoft Excel to validate data, perform reconciliations and support reporting requirements
* Manage payroll queries using ticketing systems and shared trackers
* Support continuous improvement of payroll processes, documentation and controls, partnering with People Services and Finance where required
* Contribute to the development of consistent and efficient global payroll practices


Skills & Experience

* Experience working in international payroll administration across multiple countries
* Sound understanding of global payroll processes, tax principles and statutory requirements, with confidence navigating local regulations
* Excellent attention to detail and care when working with complex and sensitive data
* Strong Excel skills, using tools such as lookups, pivot tables and data checks to support accurate payroll delivery
* Clear and thoughtful communicator, comfortable building positive working relationships with stakeholders across different time zones
* Organised and reliable, able to manage competing deadlines while maintaining a consistently high standard of work
