Fire Service Team Lead
Iris Care Group – the largest independent health and social care provider in the South West of England and South Wales – invites applications for an experienced Fire Service Team Lead to join our Estates Department.
This role will cover all fire alarm systems servicing requirements, emergency lighting, door access installation and ongoing maintenance. It will build an internal servicing team and lead the servicing structure and routine maintenance across our homes in England and South Wales.

Role Responsibilities
Fire Systems
* Service and maintain fire detection systems and equipment.
* Fire alarm systems (Quarterly, Six monthly, Annual)
* Emergency lighting (Six monthly, Annual)
* Fault finding, repairing, and testing fire alarm systems and emergency lighting
* Servicing and maintaining fire panels.
* Smoke control AOV, systems and fire extinguishers.
* Lead and manage fire service engineer.
* Manage servicing schedule to report into Compliance Manager.
* Assist with management of remedial works generated by RA/internal reports.
Access Control
* Perform PPM and reactive maintenance on current systems.
* Door entry installations.
* Troubleshooting and repairing electronic security systems.
* Work to industry best practices and local specifications.
Role Requirements
Essential
* Proven experience working on and servicing fire detection systems (minimum 2 years).
* Up to date with current legislation across fire systems and servicing requirements.
* Proven experience of installation of door access systems and a good knowledge base.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Evidence of team leadership and leading by example.
* Experience prioritising complex and often conflicting estates demands ensuring appropriate risk management approaches are used.
* Good level of IT skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel).
Desirable
* Recognised industry qualifications for fire servicing.
* CCTV installation experience.
* SAS (staff attack systems) experience.
* Evidence of delivering process implementation across a range of operational areas.
* Experience of working in health care/supported living and challenging environments.
* Professionally focused with the ability to think laterally to meet goals.
