We are recruiting for a committed Alternative Provisions Support Worker for a specialist setting in the Newton Abbot area.
About the Role
This role involves supporting young people with a range of SEN needs in a bespoke alternative learning environment. The provision delivers education through outdoor learning, practical activities, and tailored interventions designed to re-engage students.
You will be responsible for:
Supporting young people 1:1 or in small groups
Helping deliver outdoor, practical, and activity‑based sessions
Using trade or hands‑on skills to engage learners
Transporting students to activities using a company vehicle
Maintaining a safe, calm, and encouraging environment
Working as part of a supportive, experienced team
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
Experience working with SEN learners (essential)
A full UK driving licence (essential)
A passion for outdoor learning and practical activities
Some trade-based or hands‑on skills (desirable)
Age 25+ (due to insurance requirements for driving a company vehicle)
An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
