Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to support the Dispensing Services Manager and Chief Technicians in maintaining an efficient and safe dispensing service at the Royal Derby Hospital main dispensary. Applicants may be registered or due to qualify within six months (by September 2025). The role offers development opportunities, rotation into weekend and bank holiday work, and the chance to grow within a supportive, inclusive team.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in dispensing, compounding and medication management activities.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
* Collaborate closely with Pharmacy teammates, service users and other clinical staff.
* Support the implementation of medication safety initiatives and quality improvement projects.
* Participate in scheduled weekend and bank holiday shifts on a rotational basis.
* Contribute to training and professional development activities within the Department.
Requirements
Essential
* Registered Pharmacy Technician (GPhC registration) with evidence of CPD.
* Significant pharmacy experience, particularly in dispensing services.
* Ability to work under pressure, organise own workload and meet deadlines.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills with the pharmacy team and service users.
* Team player, approachable and able to work independently while recognising limits of authority.
Desirable
* Foundational knowledge of NVQ Pharmacy Services standards.
