Title: Bookkeeper (Part time)
Salary: £27,000-£30,000 (FTE)

A well-established and reputable accountancy practice in Wakefield is looking to appoint a Bookkeeper to join their team on a part-time basis. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to work closely with a varied portfolio of clients while contributing to the efficient and accurate delivery of bookkeeping and management accounts services.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, highly organised, and capable of producing high-quality bookkeeping work to a near management accounts level with minimal supervision. This is a client-facing role, primarily based in the office, with occasional travel to local client sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for a range of clients across different industries
2. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments
3. Reconcile VAT, PAYE, and bank accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
4. Prepare working files up to management accounts standard
5. Liaise directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and provide bookkeeping support
6. Work collaboratively with the wider accountancy team to ensure seamless service delivery
7. Travel to local client sites when required (expenses reimbursed)
Requirements
8. Proven experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice
9. Strong knowledge of VAT, PAYE, and bank reconciliation processes
10. Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar
11. Ability to prepare accurate records to management accounts standard
12. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
13. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
14. Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle for local travel
