Role Overview
We are seeking an inspirational teacher of Computer Science to lead this popular subject in our outstanding school. The Computer Science department offers a vibrant and ambitious curriculum across all key stages. All students study Computer Science at Key Stage 3, and the subject is taught at both GCSE and A Level. Students are highly motivated, intellectually curious, and consistently achieve excellent outcomes; in 2025, 80% of GCSE students achieved grades 7‑9. We are seeking an exceptional practitioner to lead this successful and forward‑thinking department. The successful candidate will teach Computer Science across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, and will provide strategic and inspirational leadership to a small team of dedicated teachers, ensuring high‑quality provision throughout the school. The ability to teach Computer Science confidently at GCSE and A Level is essential, alongside the vision and enthusiasm to drive continued excellence in the department.
Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, develop excellent departmental resources and plan and deliver an ambitious grammar school curriculum.
* Be creative and innovative, constantly looking for new ways to challenge our high‑ability students across all Key Stages.
* Secure the highest standards of pupil achievement, monitor, track, support, and evaluate pupil achievement. Set targets for improvement and implement effective strategies for underperforming students.
* Develop super‑curricular opportunities for all students across the school to develop their interest in Computer Science and to ensure the subject is high‑profile.
