Aims of Job/Job Purpose
The post-holder will provide technical support for science courses based in the Science and A-Level programme area, including supporting the science team to ensure effective and efficient curriculum delivery and keeping an accurate inventory of equipment and consumables.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
* Prepare materials for practical sessions to
* Keep laboratories and clinics clean and tidy and maintain the prep room in an orderly
* Work alongside and support the senior technician and lecturers in all practical
* Advise Lecturers as to alternative procedures or
* Complete and update risk assessments for practical activities and COSHH records for all
* Liaise with the local fire service and other relevant external parties in relation to radioactive
* Check equipment on a daily basis to make sure it is always in a safe working order. 8. Have a sound knowledge of health and safety in the lab
* Attend and contribute to the Divisional
* Attend the college's health and safety meetings and always monitor health and safety in the science laboratories.
* Undertake first aid duties and be responsible for updating first aid qualification as and when.
* Monitor and maintain stock control

* Any other duties, which are commensurate with the grade and nature of the post.
