Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Psychiatric Nurse within our Community Mental Health Team withinSouth Ayrshire based at Upper Rec Hall, Ailsa Hospital.
Hours:
From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
37 hours per week, This post is offered on a permanent basis. Monday to Friday, 9 - 5
There is no on call rota
UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
What you will do:
Case manage a large caseload of people with a variety of mental health issues. This will include dementia, anxiety, depression, mood disorder and schizophrenia. You will be expected to work both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a larger multi disciplinary team. As a Band 6 there will also be a degree of supervising staff at Band 5 or 3.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Qualified as an RMN for a minimum of 3 years. Experience of working with older people within mental health services is desirable. Knowledge of mental health illness and physical comorbidity’s relating to older people.
