We have four sites located across Barnsley (Penistone, Goldthorpe, Wombwell & Worsbrough Common), and so this is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Supported Living Team, to work with:
* Young people (often care leavers aged 16+) preparing for independence
* Young people and young adults with learning disabilities, preparing for independence
* Families who may need some additional support, prior to living independently in the community
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic full or part time Support Worker, with excellent people skills, to join our team. It is essential that you can be a positive role model and share our values of being respectful and professional, having integrity, being quality driven and supportive.
Ideally you will have 2 years relevant experience in a Support Worker role with different service user groups, along with an associated Level 3 Qualification, OR you will have the ability to demonstrate transferrable skills, knowledge and experience appropriate to the role, and a willingness to complete the qualification subject to satisfactory completion of probation period.
The role involves working eight hour shifts, on a rota basis, with some sleep-in's (for which additional payment of £60 is made)including weekend working. Part time hours are either 24 hrs (3 shifts) or 32 hrs (4 shifts); full time is 40hrs (5 shifts).
A current driving licence and use of a car is desirable, but not essential, as all sites are easily accessed via public transport.
Successful applicants will require a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure (which we will pay for).
