Technology Transfer & Industrial Participation Manager
Salary: Circa £50,000
Working model: Hybrid, typically 2–3 days per week on-site

A leading European defence organisation is looking to appoint a Technology Transfer & Industrial Participation Manager to support major international export programmes. This role sits at the intersection of project delivery, supplier management and international industrial cooperation, with regular engagement across Europe.
The role:
You will be responsible for delivering technology and industrial transfer projects that enable overseas industrial partners to manufacture complex defence sub-systems under licence. Working with suppliers, internal technical teams and international stakeholders, you’ll ensure transfers are delivered to agreed cost, schedule and quality commitments.
This is a delivery-focused role with significant stakeholder exposure, suited to someone comfortable operating in complex, multi-national environments where governance, export controls and intellectual property are critical.
Regular travel to European locations, including Poland and Italy, forms part of the role.
Key responsibilities:
• Deliver small to medium technology transfer and industrialisation projects on international defence programmes
• Coordinate the transfer of technical data, services and hardware from suppliers to overseas manufacturing partners
• Maintain Statements of Work, delivery schedules, risks, budgets and progress reporting
• Ensure export control approvals, licences and end-user documentation are in place to support on-time delivery
• Chair and support project reviews with suppliers and international partners, capturing actions and outcomes
• Interface with internal engineering, quality, operations and programme teams to support acceptance activities
• Support commercial and procurement colleagues with subcontract and licence-related activities
• Track licence fees, royalties and milestone payments in line with contractual agreements
• Provide clear status updates and reporting to senior stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
• Experience delivering projects involving technology transfer, industrialisation, offsets or licensed manufacture
• Strong project management fundamentals (planning, scheduling, risk and reporting)
• Commercial awareness, particularly around contracts, Statements of Work and supplier engagement
• Exposure to intellectual property, licensing or export-controlled environments
• Confidence working with international partners and navigating cultural differences
• Clear communicator, comfortable engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders
• Degree-level education in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience
Experience within defence, aerospace, complex manufacturing or highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
