Pupil Support Leader – Fixed Term Contract until 12/02/2027

Salary: £59,727 per annum
Hours: 35 per week
Liberton High School is a non‑denominational secondary school with a roll of approximately 900 pupils, working in partnership with our associated primaries of Craigour Park, Gilmerton, Liberton and Prestonfield to serve our local community in South East Edinburgh. We have a rising roll which is projected to peak at approximately 1100 within the next four years.
We are excited to be moving into a new, purpose‑built Community Campus, which is due to be completed in August 2026.
The leadership team comprises the Head Teacher, three Deputy Head Teachers and a Business Manager. We have a complement of 65 teaching staff and 26 support staff. We are a successful school, which is evident in our attainment journey over the past five years.
There is an integrated Pupil Support Team including Support for Learning, as well as our Enhanced Support Provision, our Well‑being Hub and our House Teams.
Responsibilities
* Pupil Support caseload of all S1‑S4 pupils in Tay House
* S1‑S4 GIRFEC/CP/LAAC supports
* Monitoring and follow‑up on attendance for caseload
* Coursing
* Tracking S1‑S4 referrals
* School contact for college (hair and beauty)
* Care experienced co‑ordinator
* S1‑S4 attainment overview and interventions
* PSE curriculum (shared with other PSLs)
* This post is to cover a maternity leave
Qualifications and Requirements
* Regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007
* Candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check
* If the individual has spent a continuous period of three months or more outside the UK in the last five years, an overseas criminal record check is required
* Unconditional offer contingent on satisfactory pre‑employment checks
* Salaries in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education
