We are looking for a commercial and driven Department Deputy Manager to lead the Accessories team in Selfridges, London. The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader who is able to build a strong team spirit and lead the team to the achievement of individual and shared goals with passion and enthusiasm. This is a full-time role which requires flexibility to work Monday to Sunday on early and late shifts.
Job responsibilities
* Manage the department’s sales performance and service
* Make effective use of space and stock to maximize sales and minimize resource wastage
* Ensure merchandise is displayed effectively using promotional material to reflect current demand
* Lead by example in client recruitment and development of client loyalty through CRM
* Achieve the boutique capture rate and mystery shopper results
* Handle various situations with professionalism
* Be aware of competitor activity and communicate insights to management
* Maintain full knowledge of back office functions and boutique analysis (CRM, client recruitment, P&L, store activities, stock control, reports, VM rules, etc.)
* Ensure the boutique maintains the correct basic stock levels
* Provide effective feedback and ensure replenishment of popular selling lines
* Control stock loss within store budget and conduct stock audits
* Operate in accordance with company procedures to minimize losses
Security
* Adhere to company procedures on security related to theft/pilferage
* Report all suspected shoplifters to Loss Prevention
* Train staff on cash handling, credit authorization, cheque acceptance, staff purchases, stock, cash, and loss reporting systems
Employee relations and staff training/development
* Participate in recruitment, training, evaluation, motivation, and development of staff
* Manage employee performance appraisals and identify employees for advancement
* Communicate effectively to develop a stable team and succession plan
* Hold morning briefings and motivate the team to achieve targets
* Network with Dior management to share best practices
* Ensure health and safety policies are followed by staff and management
Profile
* Previous management retail experience, ideally in luxury retail
* Strong expertise in menswear
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Outstanding customer service skills, initiative, and fashion sense
* A passion for Christian Dior and its collections
* Strong knowledge of fashion and trends
* Fluency in a second language (preferred)
