Person Specification
Holds QTS (ECTs with SEN interest or experience are warmly encouraged to apply)
A strong understanding of SEND practice, including personalised approaches and adaptive teaching
Demonstrates excellent classroom practice within an inclusive or specialist setting
Experience of supporting pupils with a range of needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language)
Ability to plan and deliver tailored interventions and differentiated learning
Shows patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
Committed to ongoing professional development in SEND
Experience with EHCP targets, assessments, and working with external professionals (desirable)
Ability to create a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environmentKey Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality teaching and learning within the school’s SEN provision
Plan and deliver personalised, engaging lessons that support pupils with diverse needs
Use assessment and observation to track progress and inform next steps
Work closely with the SENCo, classroom teachers, and support staff to ensure joined-up provision
Implement and review individual support plans and EHCP targets
Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support positive home–school relationships
Contribute to whole-school inclusion practices and continuous improvement
Support the emotional wellbeing, communication development, and independence of pupils
Promote enrichment and learning opportunities tailored to each child’s interests and needsWhat the School Offers
