The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in technology and perform well under pressure in a busy environment. They should be willing to learn new skills, have a logical approach to problem-solving, and pay close attention to detail. The position will primarily be based at the Birmingham Headley office with some work from home. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES This role involves working as part of an internal team to service support requests across a variety of products for multiple businesses. Support responsibilities include Desktop, Server, Active Directory, Networking, VOIP, and Cloud Services. You will be required to communicate via email, telephone, and video call to resolve issues within defined timeframes. Furthermore, you will collaborate with senior team members and participate in team projects, including on-site visits when necessary. Reporting to Service Desk Team Lead the core responsibilities are: Serve as an escalation point for the 1st Line Support Team, mentoring and sharing knowledge with creating and maintaining end-user guides. Provide 2nd line IT support, including hardware, software, network troubleshooting, and reassign high-level tickets where necessary. Configure client computer systems and assist with resolving issues. Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as end-user patch management, asset tracking, and internal auditing. Record and document processes that include Problems, Changes, and Releases. Support endpoint environments, including Windows 10 to Windows 11 and MS Office 2016 to 365. Set up and configure new hardware, system upgrades, installations, configurations, and inventory management (laptops, desktops, mobile devices). Manage expectations for relevant stakeholders. Support and troubleshoot a range of devices, applications, and services (Windows Server, Office 365, Firewalls, Antivirus, VOIP Phone Systems, VPN etc.) Experience with administrating Microsoft server on-premises and cloud-based environments is desirable.
