About the Role
As our Small Works Divisional Manager, you will take full ownership of all small works projects - from initial scoping through to successful delivery. You'll ensure each project is planned effectively, executed to the highest standard, and completed on time and within budget.
This is a key leadership position where you'll oversee project teams, drive performance, and ensure that operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with organisational goals.
What You'll Be Doing
You will lead the division across the full project lifecycle, including:
Project Management
• Assess feasibility, define scope, set budgets and resource requirements
• Develop detailed project plans and schedules
• Lead your team to deliver highquality work within agreed timelines and budgets
• Monitor progress and performance, reporting updates and forecasts where needed
• Conduct project reviews and share lessons learned to support continuous improvement
Leadership & Team Management
• Set clear objectives aligned to organisational and client requirements
• Select, manage and motivate a diverse project team
• Delegate effectively and coordinate team activities
• Provide support, guidance and development to managers, engineers, and admin staff
Financial & Operational Control
• Oversee budget management, forecasting, margin control, and applications
• Perform financial analysis and ensure commercial soundness across the division
• Identify and manage risks to ensure seamless project delivery
• Implement improvements and drive operational efficiency
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking the lead, solving problems, and keeping teams focused - particularly during high-pressure or time-critical periods.
What You'll Bring
• Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Proven experience managing projects or small works
• Ability to make confident decisions under pressure
• Solid financial and commercial understanding
• Good computer literacy
• Relevant technical or industry knowledge
Required Competencies
• Gold CSCS card
• Fire systems knowledge
• Proven experience in a managerial role
