We are recruiting for a Calibration Technician to join a highly regulated, precision engineering and advanced manufacturing environment supporting safety-critical aerospace products.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-driven engineer or technician with a strong mechanical or electrical background to take ownership of calibration activities, ensuring all measurement and test equipment remains accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.
You'll play a key role in maintaining quality standards across production and testing operations where precision and reliability are essential.
The Role
You will be responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and control of measurement and test equipment across site, ensuring compliance with internal standards and ISO quality requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing routine calibration, verification, and adjustment of instrumentation, gauges, and test equipment
- Creating and maintaining calibration procedures and documentation
- Managing asset records and schedules using CMMS/calibration software
- Coordinating internal and external calibration activities
- Supporting internal and external audits with full traceability and documentation
- Monitoring equipment wear rates and recommending replacement or repair
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant calibration laboratory (5S)
- Supporting quality investigations and root cause analysis where measurement accuracy is a factor
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with SHE and safety standards
About You
We're looking for someone practical, organised, and technically confident who enjoys working with precision equipment.
Essential:
- Recognised Electrical or Mechanical qualification (HNC/HND/BTEC Level 3 or equivalent)
- Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent engineering experience
- Hands-on calibration or instrumentation experience
- Strong understanding of measurement principles and tolerances
- Experience reading engineering drawings
- Experience using CMMS or maintenance/calibration systems
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills
Desirable:
- Experience within aerospace, defence, or regulated manufacturing
- ISO9001 or quality systems exposure
- Metrology or laboratory calibration experience
