General TA needed Location: Fareham Contract: Full Time Start Date: February 2026 We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic general Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive Key Stage 1 team at a welcoming primary school in the Fareham area. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children at a vital stage in their learning and development. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience working with children in KS1 or a primary school setting (desirable). A nurturing, patient, and supportive approach to learning and behaviour. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff. Confidence supporting pupils of mixed abilities within the classroom. A proactive, reliable, and enthusiastic attitude. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate KS1 lessons. Provide general classroom support, including one-to-one and small group work. Assist with phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy activities. Help create a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment. Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in young learners. Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
