SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist primary SEN school in Burnley to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. The school offers a nurturing and structured environment where staff work closely to support each child’s individual development and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual learning needs
* Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted learning activities
* Help manage behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies
* Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in pupils
* Support with personal care where required (training provided if needed)
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working in an SEN setting or with pupils with additional needs
* Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience
* Be confident in managing behaviour positively and consistently
* Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Hold relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach desirable)
