W&A are delighted to be working exclusively with a Facilities Management business based in West Lothian, as they look to recruit a Financial Controller in what is a newly created position.
Part of a large, successful, multifaceted group, the role will take responsibility of end to end finance of one of the Group’s most profitable divisions, leading a small but experienced finance team.
The Financial Controller role will have the opportunity to grow and support additional Group Finance activity and General Management responsibilities, potentially getting involved in future acquisitions and strategic work.
The role will be highly visible and, whilst being ‘Hands On’, will also be involved at Board level within the Senior Management Team, work closely with the business and have a strong commercial element to it.
As an individual, you will need to bring a strong technical and commercial awareness to the role and will be able to present confidently at a senior level.
Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and financial reporting for senior leadership
monitor performance against targets
Liaising with clients, calculating and managing project income and cost increases
Support statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditors
Develop and improve internal financial controls, processes and reporting tools
Provide financial & commercial insight to support decision-making across the business
Lead, mentor and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and engagement
Support the development of finance systems, automation and process improvements
Applicants must hold a Professional Accountancy qualification
Experience of producing end-to-end Financial & Management Accounts with the ability to be ‘Hands On’
Strong communicator, confident presenter and able to build relationships out with finance
Must be able to lead, prepare and organise a small finance team
Ideally tech savvy with strong Excel skills and the ability to look at getting the best out of a relatively new finance system (Microsoft – Business Central)
The role could be suited to either someone who is practice trained and now working in Industry but looking to take the next step up, or perhaps someone already close to this level but looking for a new challenge with the opportunity to grow with both the role and business
Although there is flexibility to work at home, this is predominantly a site-based role in a fairly unique setting.
