Scope:
The Senior Functional Safety Engineer will be responsible for delivering and maintaining ISO 26262:2018 functional safety work products for vehicle motion-related systems, including both chassis and electrical powertrain. The role requires leading integration, verification, and validation efforts, managing multi-party supplier coordination, and ensuring the delivery of functional safety work products up to the Item Safety Case.
Responsibilities
* Deliver ISO 26262:2018 work products for Items related to Vehicle Motion (Chassis and Powertrain) as specified in the Functional Safety Plan.
* Maintain all functional safety documentation including Item Definition, Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARAs), Functional Safety Concepts (FSC), and Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs).
* Develop and execute Integration Test Specifications (ITS), Integration Test Reports (ITR), and Safety Goal Validation Plans (SGVP) and Reports (SGVR).
* Own and manage the complete lifecycle of ISO 26262 work products through to the Item Safety Case.
* Lead technical discussions with suppliers and external technical partners.
* Coordinate and synchronize activities between multiple stakeholders in alignment with the Development Interface Agreement (DIA).
* Implement effective mitigation strategies for deviations and challenges.
Required Experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience in functional safety engineering within the chassis and/or electrical powertrain domain.
* Demonstrated experience creating ISO 26262:2018 Part 3 and 4 work products, including FSC, FSR, ITS, ITR, SGVP, and SGVR.
* Hands-on experience with integration and verification of functional safety requirements and validation of safety goals.
* Proven track record in supplier management under a Development Interface Agreement framework.
