Job Details
We are seeking experienced nurses with a critical care course completion, eager to work in one of the largest and most specialized critical care departments in the UK. The role involves managing patients independently, leading care teams, and contributing to high standards of clinical practice.
Note: Candidates must have completed a critical care course and provide proof within 3 months of interview; failure to do so will result in withdrawal of the offer.

Main Duties
1. Manage a group of patients independently in a multidisciplinary team setting.
2. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including diagnostics and investigations.
3. Administer prescribed medications, including blood transfusions.
4. Recognize and respond to emergencies, leading others in urgent situations.
5. Ensure high-quality patient care respecting individual beliefs and needs.
6. Provide leadership, support, and guidance to staff, monitoring care delivery.
7. Maintain professional standards in line with NMC code, continuously updating knowledge.
8. Carry out advanced clinical procedures for complex patients.
9. Ensure confidentiality and proper record-keeping.
10. Promote infection control and safety measures.
11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
12. Participate in quality improvement, audits, and research activities.
13. Identify and mitigate risks, report incidents.
14. Support staff development and training programs.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc/First degree in health-related field or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of completion of a specialist course.
* Mentorship or teaching qualification preferred.
* Post-registration qualification or relevant experience in the specialty.
Registration
* Registered Nurse (RN1, RN2, RN12, or RN Child) on the NMC register, appropriate to the specialty.
Experience
* Management of patients in the specialty.
* Supervising and assessing learners and junior staff.
* Shifts coordination experience.
Skills & Knowledge
* Up-to-date clinical and professional knowledge, evidence-based practice.
* Leadership in teaching and mentoring.
* Understanding of audit, research, and clinical governance.
* Excellent communication skills, handling sensitive situations.
