Responsibilities
* Validating new product releases and updates
* Testing of trucks and components to assess performance and demonstrate compliance
* Leading development and innovation projects
* Concept and design of parts and assemblies
* Develop design changes using 3D CAD and produce engineering drawings
* Generate bills of materials for engineering release
* Generate aftermarket parts information to support maintenance of trucks
* Review development logs and propose interim and permanent corrective actions
* Provide technical support to production departments
* Investigate technical issues using various problem‑solving processes
* Redesign products to improve performance and value
* Provide general support to the team and assist with departmental improvements
Knowledge Required
* Candidates must be students working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, with this student placement part of their degree course
* Understanding of basic mechanical engineering concepts
* Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and experience using 3D CAD
* Competent in MS365 Office packages
* Strong teamworking and communication skills, proactivity and initiative, and a desire to learn in a fast‑paced environment
* Shortlisting criteria may be enhanced as necessary.
