Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a full‑time Consultant Psychiatrist to join Jade Ward, a 19‑bed acute inpatient ward at Langley Green Hospital in Crawley. This key medical and leadership role provides high‑quality, person‑centred care to adults experiencing acute mental health difficulties.
Recruitment and Retention Payment
£45,000 structured over three years: £15,000 upon recruitment, £10,000 at 12, 24 and 36 months of service.

Main duties of the job
* Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment to inpatients
* Lead ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings
* Act as Responsible Clinician for detained patients under the Mental Health Act
* Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and training
* Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement and service development

Key Qualifications
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
Desirable Qualifications
* Higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management
* MRCPsych
* Additional clinical qualifications
Eligibility
* Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise on appointment
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of appointment
* Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment
Transport
* Valid UK driving licence or evidence of an alternative proposal

* Excellent knowledge in the specialty
* Excellent clinical skills using a bio‑psycho‑social perspective and broad medical knowledge
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
