Overview
Healthcare Assistant role in North Wales (Flintshire & Wrexham) at Marie Curie UK. We are looking for a compassionate, hands-on team member to provide high-quality end-of-life care during night shifts.
Responsibilities
* Deliver holistic, person-centred end-of-life care as part of a multidisciplinary team, under the guidance of registered professionals.
* Provide personal care, symptom management and emotional support to patients and their families.
* Contribute to care planning, assist with daily living activities, and maintain a safe and dignified environment.
* Support patients’ loved ones through grief and bereavement.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Level 2 qualification (e.g. NCFE, BTEC), plus functional skills in numeracy and literacy at Level 2.
* At least 6 months of recent care delivery experience in a health or social care setting.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to hold person-centred, empathetic conversations and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care, including holistic care planning and symptom management.
* Ability to plan and prioritise care, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate appropriately.
* A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Salary and Benefits
* Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £24,833 pro rata per annum + enhancements.
* Contract: Permanent Night shifts, 27 hours per week.
* Based: Community Based – North Wales – Flintshire & Wrexham.
