We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering engineering projects in the LPG sector across the UK, ensuring technical integrity, safety compliance, and commercial performance. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple phases of LPG infrastructure projects, from feasibility and design to installation and commissioning.
Project Execution
Manage end-to-end delivery of LPG infrastructure projects including tank installations, pipeline networks, vaporisers, and metering systems.
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, customers and regulatory authorities.
Technical Design & Engineering
Perform engineering calculations (e.g., Review and approve contractor submittals and engineering documentation.
Regulatory & Safety Compliance
HAZOP, HAZID) during project development.
Site Management & Commissioning
Oversee site activities including construction, installation, and commissioning.
Troubleshoot issues and provide engineering support during startup and handover.
Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and third parties.
Provide regular updates and technical reports to project stakeholders.
Practical risk management experience (IOSH desirable).
Contractor engagement and working to procurement processes.
Ability to identify, develop and implement process improvements, including writing documentation.
Functional use of 2D CAD.
Knowledge of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and general schematics to support proposals/installations.
Technical understanding of power, heating, and heat distribution technologies, alongside CHP, heat-pump, and generation technologies (Applications).
Calculations to support gas, heat, and fluid flow/design limits.
Hazard identification and evaluation / management of risks.
Fundamental project management qualification.
~3+ years of experience in project engineering within the LPG, oil & gas, or related industries.
~ Strong project management and organisational skills.
~ Proficient in CAD, MS Project, and engineering tools/software.
~ Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or related field).
Exposure to LPG in commercial/industrial environments such as energy centres, fuel depots, or manufacturing plants.
HSE certifications relating to practical risk management and control (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
