Job Purpose:
To work within a Claims environment, processing and handling of new and existing Structural Warranty claims. You will manage your own caseload of claims within a delegated authority, aiding and supporting the Claims Team Leader and Head of Claims, liaising as necessary with Policyholders, Solicitors, Technical Surveyors and insurers, and operating strictly within FCA Regulations & Guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Answering calls and emails from Policyholders, providing advice on the claims process and an excellent customer experience at all times.
2. Acting as the main point of contact for Policyholders who have submitted a claim.
3. Collecting accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded and maintained on the claim file.
4. Assessing a claim made by a policyholder fairly and consistently to ensure that correct coverage decisions are made.
5. Proactively managing your own caseload of Structural Warranty claims, of medium to large value and complexity, ensuring they are correctly handled and that there is a fair and prompt settlement of any valid claims.
6. Working with the Recoveries Team to highlight potential recovery and/or mitigation opportunities.
7. Setting and maintaining appropriate reserves throughout the lifecycle of all claims.
8. Handling claims declinatures and appeals.
9. Providing support and guidance to other members of the Claims Department.
10. Ensuring the customer is treated fairly at all times.
11. Working closely with insurers and solicitors when needed.
12. Adhering to legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards set by the company.
13. Regularly reviewing and improving existing processes.
14. Undertaking any other duties as reasonably required.
Key Skills & Experience:
1. Experience as a Claims Handler within an insurance environment.
2. Strong understanding of insurance principles, laws and regulations.
3. Experience in dealing with large and complex property claims.
4. Good knowledge of claims systems and procedures.
5. An understanding of latent defects principles (desirable).

1. To have or be working towards insurance related qualifications such as CII.
