Behaviour Support Assistant – Boxing Coach West Sussex £445- £500 per week (salary is dependent on qualifications/experience) ASAP - Ongoing (permanent or temporary positions available) Vision for Education are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistants to join our SEN schools across West Sussex! Do you believe in the power of sport to change lives? Join Our Team as a Behaviour Support Assistant We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Boxing Coach to lead structured boxing programmes for young people who are currently disengaged from education. This role is about far more than fitness or technique - it’s about using the discipline, focus, and structure of boxing to help pupils build resilience, regulate emotions, and re-engage with learning. You’ll be working one-to-one and in small groups with young people who may be excluded, at risk of exclusion, or facing significant social challenges. Through your sessions, you’ll offer them not only a physical outlet, but also a sense of purpose, self-belief, and the tools they need to thrive both in and outside the classroom. What you’ll be doing: Leading safe, engaging, and inclusive boxing sessions that meet national standards. Offering mentoring and guidance to help pupils develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally. Being a steady, positive influence and providing strong pastoral support. Assisting with strategies that improve behaviour and learning, enabling pupils to re-engage with education. Building effective relationships with schools, families, and partner agencies to ensure consistent support. Recording progress accurately and playing an active role in the wider school community. Requirements: To be considered for the role of Behaviour Support Assistant you will: DESIRED: Level 2 qualified (or working towards) Essential: Able to drive Ideally have prior school experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behavioural needs. Be confident in behaviour management skills to de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour. To mentor and engage with the pupils, delivering specifically designed educational packages. You will need to be resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things too personally. Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
