Band 2/3 - healthcare support worker, children's outpatients

Responsibilities

* Helping to run the clinics, and knowing all the different needs for each speciality.
* Restocking the trolleys, and consultation rooms.
* Helping to keep the department a safe place for the children to play while there for their appointment.
* ECG's for patients.
* Measuring patients' height and weight and recording on the appropriate documentation.
* Urinalysis and HbA1c for Diabetic clinics.
* ECG's for any Consultant when required.
* Head circumferences.
* Teaching inhaler technique (after inhouse training).
* Spirometry and FeNo for respiratory clinics after training.
* Regular restocking of blood trolleys and ward stock.
* Blood pressure (manual and automatic).
* Venepuncture training.

As we grow and promote better patient care and experience, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated and innovative Healthcare Support Worker to join our Children's Outpatients Team.

Requirements / Qualifications

* Previous experience working with children or as a Healthcare Support Worker is essential.
* Self-motivated, organised, adaptable, friendly candidates with excellent interpersonal skills who will be able to work calmly and effectively in a busy environment.
* The working hours are either 09:00-17:00 or 08:30-16:30, with occasional adjustments to accommodate clinic schedules, and cross-site work between Watford and Hemel Hempstead Children's Outpatients.
