School-Based SEN Support Practitioner
Location: Bath (BA3)Hours: Full Time, Monday–FridaySalary: £92.65 – £105 per day
About the Role
We’re looking for a caring, patient and motivated individual to join a welcoming school community in Bath (BA3) as a School-Based SEN Support Practitioner.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including communication needs, learning difficulties, sensory needs, and social-emotional challenges. You do not need formal qualifications... just the right mindset, a willingness to learn, and experience from people-focused environments such as care, youth work, psychology, sports coaching, mentoring or education studies.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a School-Based SEN Support Practitioner, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse SEN needs
* Help implement personalised learning plans and behaviour or support strategies
* Assist with emotional regulation, communication, engagement and confidence-building
* Support sensory needs and structured routines where required
* Create a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment for all learners
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists and wider support teams
* Encourage independence, resilience and positive progress for each pupil

* Patience, empathy, resilience and a positive, nurturing attitude
* Experience in care, youth support, psychology, education studies, sports coaching, playwork or other people-focused roles
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* The ability to remain calm, consistent and reassuring in challenging moments
* A willingness to learn, reflect and develop within the role
* Reliability and a proactive approach to teamwork
