Roles and Responsibilities
* Drive the development and implementation of an Orange Book‑compliant risk management framework, leveraging internal audit recommendations as a foundation. Produce guidance and tools to support across the organisation.
* Take the lead in addressing compliance issues, including data evaluation and the preparation of reports.
* Provide expert advice to facilitate the organisation's risk management processes, encompassing risk identification, assessment, management, and monitoring.
* Lead the initiation and implementation of best practice internal governance procedures, serving as the senior point of contact for all internal governance matters.
* Corporate ownership of crucial internal governance policies, such as counter‑fraud, anti‑bribery and corruption, declarations and conflicts of interest, and whistleblowing.
* Provide support to the CFO (Chief Finance Officer) as the counter‑fraud lead.
Skills Needed
* Suitable risk experience, ideally within the public sector
* Familiarity with the Government Counter Fraud Standard.
* Understanding of the legal framework related to fraud and other economic crimes.
* Strong influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
* Experience in independently conducting investigations and/or proactive fraud reviews end‑to‑end with minimal supervision.
