This is an exciting opportunity to join the Vyas Group, based in theMRC Molecular Haematology Unit, to conduct cutting-edge discovery research into the molecular and cellular mechanisms of myeloid malignancy.
You will be responsible for carrying out research in the mechanisms by which recurrent mutations in myeloid cancer cause Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). Working with a multi-disciplinary team you will conduct research on three different topics in this area, using primary human and non-human cells and appropriate model systems. You will be involved in extensive laboratory and computational analysis of single cells and also interfacing with NHS colleagues at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
You will hold a medical degree (MB ChB or equivalent) and relevant PhD or a medical doctorate, with a prior high impact publication record in the field or other relevant fields. Specialist knowledge in myeloid malignancy, haemopoiesis and analysis of murine models of haemopoiesis, together with computational experience, will be essential.
The post is available fixed-term for 12 months full time, funded by the Medical Research Council.
