Duties
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently according to prescriptions
- Prepare medication orders for patients and ensure proper labeling
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies, restocking as needed
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and optimal medication therapy
Assist in delivering dispensing services using automation.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies and procedures, including those related to medication storage, handling, and disposal
Skills
- NVQ2 or NVQ3 qualification in Dispensing or Pharmacy Services
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems for medication dispensing and inventory management
- Strong knowledge of medication administration techniques and patient care practices
- Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high level of multitasking
As new services are added to the pharmacy portfolio, where possible we would expect staff to train for and deliver those services.
Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed. Initially the successful candidate will assist staff using automation to dispense monitored dosage systems but will also be deployed within the pharmacy on other duties
