Overview
Blossomfield Rose Care Home are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Coordinator to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home settings. This role requires strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing exceptional care, particularly for individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Duties
* Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
* Coordinate daily activities, ensuring they are inclusive and accessible for all residents, including those in nursing homes or requiring specialised care.
* Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages resident participation and social interaction.
* Collaborate with staff members to assess residents' needs and preferences, adapting activities accordingly.
* Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the activities offered.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and activities.
* Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe environment for all participants.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in care environments is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with residents of varying abilities.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary.
* A creative mindset with the ability to plan diverse activities that cater to different interests and abilities.
* Relevant qualifications in health care, social work, or recreational therapy would be an advantage.
