Commercial Manager
Location: Home based with travel across the South of England
Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 + Company Car + Excellent Benefits
A leading facilities management company is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join their specialist division supporting clients across the Healthcare, Local Government, and Education sectors.
This is a key role overseeing a portfolio of PFI contracts across the UK, with a particular focus on sites in the South of England. You’ll play a vital part in driving commercial performance, managing risk, and supporting long-term contract success.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll act as the lead commercial contact on a range of projects, ensuring best-in-class contract management, compliance, and value delivery. You’ll work closely with operational teams, clients, and external partners to optimise commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial and contractual management of multiple PFI projects, supporting profitability and long-term strategic goals.
* Manage complex commercial matters such as contract variations, benchmarking, market testing, and sub-contractor negotiations.
* Identify risks and opportunities, developing robust action plans alongside operational teams.
* Support and train internal teams to enhance commercial awareness and performance.
* Track PFI performance, including deduction mechanisms and KPI compliance.
* Produce commercial reports and documentation for senior leadership and stakeholders.
* Maintain governance across all commercial activities, ensuring internal processes are followed.
* Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including legal advisors and clients.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in a commercial management role, ideally within PFI or large-scale infrastructure/FM contracts.
* In-depth understanding of PFI models, payment mechanisms, and value testing processes.
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate, resolve disputes, and unlock value.
* Confident in working with senior stakeholders and influencing strategic decisions.
* Analytical thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Passionate about continuous improvement and driving best practice.
